Auto door locking

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of getting the 5mph door locking switched on for my Fabia. I just wanted to confirm that this a once-only lock when you first drive away - it doesn't unlock when you slow down again does it? I wouldn't fancy it constantly clunking away in stop-start traffic.

Nope. It locks once then unlocks when you pull the inside door handle twice.

And when you take the key out of the ignition

Mine doesn't do that!! Oi Delaer, sort it out!

Walkie, is that a completely different VAG-COM setting, or a single one?

It only unlocks the drivers door when the key is removed, doesn't it?

Nope, unlocks them all

The unlock is a separate VAG-COM code to the lock

The unlock is a separate VAG-COM code to the lock

Yep - they can both be separately adjusted - check out the VAG-COM Guide in the Guides section on here for details on how to change the coding :D

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll get it done.

Jon, I think it's a difference between octy and furby, but on mine, when I pull the key out, it only unlocks the driver's door. Having said that, I don't know if the unlocking of driver's door only is linked to the two stage unlock with the remote ;)

If doors are locked, one pull on the door handle will unlock all doors. You then have to let go and try again which will open the door (but all other doors will open at once when pulled if you've already done the initial "unlock" from a door handle). Does that make sense?

There's a VAG-COM guide?!

I've changed mine to unlock all doors the first time you press it. Was becoming a pain tounlock all the doors as my batteries are getting low.

Xav, Jon is correct and so are you. I believe you can set it to do either drivers only or all. Mines set to all. And I do mean when the keys taken out of the ignition.

Yep it's the one wot I wrote when I done mine! ;)
