Licence plate bulb warning

Featured Replies

Fitted led festoon bulbs in licence plate bulb holders got dash warning as expected , hooked up vag com in centre electrics byte17 in long coding I ticked the box to stop pulse check from ecu to check plate bulbs. I'm still getting bulb out error on dash, as any one come across before, thought it should act immediately but tried locking car for about 10 mins then came back unlocked it started it up and put side lights ons to get the bulb out light again, any ideas greatly appreciated

What bulbs have you fitted, are they canbus friendly?

Hi fitted can bus error free led but would have thought it wouldn't have mattered having having changed long coding with vag com, thanks

You need to change byte 17, bit 7 ( count from the right, starting at 0). It only seems to work on the newer controllers on the FL though.

Hi guys, pretty new to all this so please excuse my ignorance!

Just fitted some canbus friendly led bulbs to my number plate and now have the warning light on the dash. I thought this should be a straight swap or is there anything else I need to be doing??

My car is a 2010 octavia vrs btw
