Android 4.3 Galaxy S3 SMS

Featured Replies

Having had success with my S3 on Android 4.1.2 & the Premium BT kit I now, after the phone upgrade to 4.3, find that the BT kit no longer displays incoming text messages.

Anyone know if that's a "feature" of the new OS (thanks a bunch Google! :punch: ), or should SMS still be displayed?

Tnx.

Update...

The Android update appears flawed!

An old Nokia paired and works fine. Damn Samsung updates :punch:

Which network are you on?

In my experience each network b'stardises Android (for example on SGS3/O2 the car dock feature is disabled, on SGS2/Vodaphone the NFC is disabled) and usually includes a load of bloat too (as well as being behind whatever the current release of Android is). I ditched the O2 version of Android on my SGS3 a few weeks ago in favour of Cyanogenmod. The phone is now faster, the bluetooth actually connects every time (before I had to reboot the phone 50% of the time for it to connect), the car dock works (no official SGS3 car dock, but the one for the Samsung Infuze works perfectly) and the bluetooth streaming is now working properly too (full control and track info displayed). Oh an battery life is vastly improved too.

The bloat is all gone, and there is far more control of the SGS3 available too :)

I'll be moving up to the Note3 as soon as Cyanogen iis released for it.

It's the official Samsung update, unlocked & unbranded, so no network interference.

Clearly this is one that Samsung has to take responsibility for, as numerous people seem to have found. Just wish I'd have read more before updating

Response just received from Samsung...

"Please be advised that we are aware of the issue and Google is working on the resolution at present. I would kindly ask you for your patience on this occasion and as soon as Google confirms that the fix was prepared we will make sure that all users are immediately informed.
As we are currently investigating the reported issues with Galaxy S3 4.3 Jelly Bean update, the upgrading service has been temporarily suspended.
We are committed to providing customers with the best possible mobile experience, and will ensure to resume the upgrading service at the earliest possibility."

So, for what it's worth...
