octavia creaking front suspesion

Featured Replies

car has only done 44k and the front suspension is creaking when it drives over speed bumps. there is no obvious knocks or rattles that you get from worn suspension. Except for the creaking which is annoying, is this a sign of failing bushes or a common characteristic of the Octavia. Was going to spray the bushes with WD 40 but car is going into garage on Monday for another issue and was going to let them have a look at it as its still under warranty. Your thoughts.

Common on the VAG platform its based on. Car will most likely pass the MOT with no probs on bushes. I changed mine to superpro poly bushes...still squeak. WD40 stops it for about 3-8weeks weather dependant.

Had the same problem on my 2 previous fabias, once they got to about 100k/10yrs old the creaking started. Both times it was the lower suspension mounts degrading. Its a quick and cheap fix. Your car seems a bit young for this issue but I don't have any experience of this on my PD170 vRS (@90k miles) yet...

When I said mounts I meant bushes :-)
