1.9 tdi sport - noisier than VRS mk I?

Featured Replies

Guys

I have test driven a few 1.9 tdis I have found them to be much noisier and harsher than a Fabia mk 1 VRS....like driving a tractor...which is putting me off buying a 1.9 sport even though it's got a lot going for it on paper.

Would really like a 1.6 tdi Monte Carlo 105 but is over budget :heartbreak: as no high-milers to bring the cost down on the market

Can anyone tell me if the 1.9 tdi in the Sport is inherently more noisy and coarse than in the VRS - if so can this be corrected eg by remapping the Sport?

Or is this more driving style ie to get a stock 1.9 Sport to move you need to revi it harder than eg a VRS mk I?

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks

TBH I have never driven the VRS MK1 so can't tell you if MK2 Sport in noiser but when I had my remap on the car (1.9 TDI) there was no difference for me in the niose level at all. The ecomonomy improved and all that extra power....!!!!! I absulutely love the car. Since I had my remap I've done over 50,000 miles with no problems at all. Touch wood.

the engines are the same, so i would assume the vRS has more sound deadening in it.......

Make me an offer on my Monte... :giggle:
