Estate variable boot floor

Featured Replies

Had a look at an Elegance estate at the weekend.

While I see the point of having a completely flat load space, I'm not sure I'd be sliding in heavy items all that often. It does make the boot  quite shallow, and seems to take away some of the point of the Octy - ie a huge load capacity. Does anyone know if it's easy to remove and then replace (when required) the variable floor?

Yes it makes it more shallow. Easy to remove and replace back. I had one on the loan elegance for a week. Took the variable floor straight out as I had the dogs in the car. Put it straight back in before it went back to the dealer.

Easy as pie :)

Thanks for the reply LadyVienna!

No worries :) there isnt much I can help with on this forum lol but where I can I do like to help :D

On the Mk2 you can simply fold the variable floor up against the rear seat if you need the depth......which I never do. Perhaps you can do this on the Mk3 too.

Added the variable floor to our SE order as the standard boot is too big for my needs most of the time, plus I prefer the flat floor from the boot lip.

Love the boot floor as my drums slide right in. Even with boot floor I carry a full drum kit and PA system. Loads a room.

... I'm not sure I'd be sliding in heavy items all that often.

Note that the maximum load the variable boot floor can withstand is 75kg! Not a lot in case of loading several heavy items.
