Xenons HID Kit VCDS HELP!?

Featured Replies

Apologies in advance if this is not the done thing but, I've just ordered a londoncolour HID Kit:

I've looked on the members map for VCDS owners and PM'd a few with no replys so far with any offers of help. Is anyone in the Farnham, Fleet Basingstoke, Reading, Guildford, Camberley or there abouts areas, willing to help me tick the right box on a 2013 Octavia Scout? I'm happy to make a contribution to the cost of the software?

I understand it has to be a relatively recent VCDS version rather than the older VAGcom.

Failing that would my local Skoda dealership do it?

Thanks In advance.

Oh dear, even my local Skoda dealership doesn't have VCDS.

I'm off to Leckford tomorrow so could meet at Fleet services .... depending if times are mutually acceptable.

Thanks mikeholroyd, they did say we don't have 'Vagcom' I'm a bit surprised they couldn't help.

and thanks very much Gizmo68 I'll send you a PM.

What exactly needs to be changed in vcds please? Asking as am helping a member do the same next week.

Cheers

Adam

Thanks

Ross tech changed the name from vagcom to VCDS after VAG got stroppy about ross tech using their name.

Uwe Ross and friends came up with VCDS to be able to do what the dealer tool (VAS) did. I don't think the dealers are allowed to use any thing other than VAS and can be rather unhelpful concerning adaptions/changes that can be done. Also quite a few service staff seem to struggle to identify a Skoda let alone know anything technical about them.

Yes, I was quite surprised the dealership said it couldn't help, I got the impression they didn't have any software including VAS.

Anyway Gizmo68 very kindly helped me out.
