Hi, looking to by a Fabia Estate deisel, preferable a 1.9 Tdi, but may end with 1.9 Sdi.

 

I have £1500 to spend and would ideally like under 100000 miles on the clock, a 2002 onward would be nice.

 

So far I found that these are some isses i should look out for:

 

 

• Front wishbone bushes
• Water pump
• Front wheel bearings

 

Any other isssues?

Water building up in the doors gives you a wet carpet eventually if they've not been addressed. Check the heater fan blows on all the settings and that the motorized flaps behind the vents all open and close.

If you can, check that the climatronic works (often the sensors are blocked with dust). If you set it to 18C it should hold that temperature approximately without you having to adjust anything all the time.

Climatronic isn't the fancy heater with digital display, it's just the standard twist-knob heater, but it's still a little bit smart. If it works!
