Cheers for that! Looks smart, did you have to buy a facia for the outside of if? Is the sound an improvement over the symphony ?

No mate just the black bar across the top below the heated rear window / traction control button. It's a single din facia with the bottom cut off so it fits a double din ;)

Erm I can't really remember mate, the quality would come from speakers really.

I have this, will be selling it soon tho! £110

Very nice headunit, just fancy a change

Does the repeat function work if you are playing music directly from a USB flash drive??

Hasn't worked on any head units that I've tried in the past, but this was a few years ago and they are probably a lot better now

I love repeat

I use 2GB flash drives instead, as my iPod is a 120GB iPod Classic which i don't really want to leave in the car or take out with me every time i go somewhere

Fair enough, do they work with flash drives? Not sure if they do, I like the ability to be able to choose a song from iPod though.

Can also play songs via Bluetooth on my iphone. Drains battery though!!

That head unit should support it, literally just drag and drop the mp3 files onto the flash drive and plug it in

Not as good as being able to select the songs on your iPod as you said, but i don't mind it, some even let you go through albums on the head unit but i don't think you will be able to on that one, the touch screen ones with the large display usually do.

The mini screen on the alpine is annoying! I used to have an alpine which would display about 6 lines of info (songs / artists) where as this one is one by one.

Do the buttons stay green when it's not illuminated mate?

Do the buttons stay green when it's not illuminated mate?

What do you mean mate?

Dan was it hard to fit? apart from the top bar is there anything to change when going double din? Obviously we lose the bottom draw but are there fixing points etc?

Also would you rate this player better than an equivalent single din unit?

They are this colour when not illuminated:

Sorry mate hadn't seen this, didn't cut anything away.

I prefer double din personally as I think it suits the dash much better :)

Those blue buttons on the left are a bit annoying! Would have been better if they were clear.

Bluetooth version for £130 from Halfords using a discount code, can't go bad for that price

Wouldn't pay much more for it though

Older ones that look the same go for about £60 on ebay
