Well they seemed to have completely loused it up, changing everyone's passwords.

Googled the problem, and it seems many like me can't get back in there using their old usernames, and consequently have lost all their downloads and favorites.

I've given up trying to fathom the mess out now and am wondering if there is an alternative for playing and storing fave. videos?

Google is trying to force everyone onto the GMail platform. If you've a Gmail account try the password for that.
