Windscreens...

Featured Replies

So, my windscreen decided it didn't want to be a windscreen anymore...

What are the chances of the correct replacement arriving?

I had one on my last car and it was right, BUT I had to really get the phone operator to undertand that there are TWO radio areils, and ONE of them is in the front screen... double check it mate .....

I did on the phone and he said it stated with ariel but I'll be confirming before it's fitted on Sat.

When I had mine replaced (Autoglass) they did call and ask if it had the wire down the middle of the screen - so they know there are (at least) 2 types and can get the right one.

National Windscreens did a good job for me and supplied a Pilkington jobbie.

They asked about the aerial, tint and trim. Apparently it's not uncommon to have to replace the black trim pieces at the sides of the screen at the same time.

Yep - I had new black side trims as well (only know as I saw him removing the new protective film off them!).

I didn't get new trim! :o he was careful to remove it and replace it though.... then he sheared a bolt on the platic fittings by the wipers, and duley got another and returned a few day later to fit it, so all good!
