Where Does Interior Lock Pin Go?

Featured Replies

Hi

The pin you normally press down or lift up to lock or unhlock the car next to the window, was loose.

So I have stripped the interior door down, including taking the window mechanism away.

The end of the lock pin, is hanging loose (funny shapped metal rod)

I cant see where it should hook into on the actuator, as the area is very cramped and i think I need a special VW touque key to take the actuator off to see propely.

I can see a whte plastic square on the actuator that moves up and down to lock, and it does look like a piece of hook shaped plastic is loose, so it is possible that this has snapped, I just find it strange that this mechanism woud be based on a piece of plastic, so need someone to tell me if there is a piece of metal missing, or am I  in the wrong place, or yes the pin does connect to a square piece of plastic that can snap.

A photo of the mech would be great, as there is nothing I can find on Google or in my manual.

Thanks again

Now I've not took my fabias door card off but when I've had this on previous cars the rod hooks into a hole and the plastic clips around it to hold it in place

That ^ IIRC the long end with the weight points down and you hook the rod into the left/ right side depending on which door side.post-73816-0-24524400-1385062751_thumb.png Not the best pic but it should give you an idea.

Off topic but it annoys the **** out of me that I have the lock pins in the front doors but not in the rears!!

Buy an early one.

Then you get the added bonus of a longer ratio gearbox, rear lock pins and unboltable door regulators to name a few bits :)

Sorry

Forgot to mention this is the front door.

Cant see anything that relates to weights.

Sod that haha. I've thought about buying an 07 plate with big spec like heated seats and leathers etc then swapping parts.
