Bolero playing up!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

The Bolero head unit in our car has suddenly started to play up! When playing a CD it will skip to another track mid song, and it also has a tendency to change radio stations of its own accord and I'm puzzled to why? At first it was just the radio and I thought it was dropping in and out of DAB but even when just in FM it'll change station randomly, so I thought it might be something to do with the regional setting but this seems to have no effect whether this is turned on or not. As for the CD, I've tried it with different discs and it still skips mid song but not on every track, its all very random! I have no access to VCDS so don't know if any errors are shown.

Any suggestions gladly welcomed, failing that I reckon a trip to the dealer is required.

Thanks

Charley.

Is it doing the same when playing tracks from an SD card or via Bluetooth on your phone? Does sound like a trip to the dealer is required!!

Only thing I can think of is to clean the touch screen - long shot though.

I'm not sure of the tech in the bolero screen but even a little grease or moisture on certain types of touch screen can make them have phantom inputs.

Not a bad shout as the kids grubby mitts are all over it, I'll give it a clean and see how we go.

Sounds like a dirty screen or a next track button intermittently making contact
