Changing discs pads question

Featured Replies

Hi I was just wondering if you actually need a brake caliper rewind tool to do it or can you just use a big g clamp on it?

Don't want to get to the point where I find out I need it but then also don't want to buy one and find i didn't need it...

Front or back?

Back, yes.

Front, no.

Ok thanks for the info

To re-iterate...you'll need a re-wind tool for the rears to make your life all smooth and easy :)

A good tool can be bought from Halfords for under 20 quid. It's an essential investment if you're gonna tackle this job yourself on your driveway...otherwise things will be difficult...

Don't forget to back the handbrake adjuster off before winding the rear calipers back.

Explain? is that the bit behind the lever on the inside of the car?

Yes there's an adjuster on the cables not sure if it's inside under the centre console trim or under the car. Sure someone will be along to confirm it.

Also dont rewind them back to far otherwise the rewind tool will get jammed, then youll be unhappy
