This is a lovely, genuine example of the Special Edition Skoda Fabia VRS SE Mk1 and comes with detailed provenance of its full service history, low ownership and the loving care that has been lavished on it.

  • 2007 (07).
  • Very low mileage of 26k.
  • Only 1 previous owner, current owner since 2009.
  • No 330 of the limited run of 1,000.
  • Race blue metallic paint, black leather sports seats.
  • Engine: 1.9TDi
  • Transmission: 6 speed manual.
  • First registered 4 May 2007.
  • Taxed until 30 September 2014.
  • MOT’d until 4 May 2014.

This Fabia has been owned by my 78 year old mother for the past 4 years (replacing a Toyota Yaris believe it or not!), during which time she has put approx. 7k miles on the clock. Since she became very ill and unable to drive late last year the car has been used by me for taking her to a number of hospitals in the North West over the past 14 months (where the 60+ mpg has proved very useful) and otherwise by my wife chiefly for local journeys with the occasional 400 mile round trip to her mum’s. During this time a further 12k miles have been added. My mother is now unlikely to ever be able to drive again and so the car is to be sold.

The car was supplied new to its first owner in Ipswich by Skoda dealership Hayes Garage, Clacton.

The car was purchased by my mother on 18 April 2009 from Dennis Horton & Son, the official Skoda dealership in Lincoln, under the Approved Used programme, with 7,982 miles on the clock and 3 years’ manufacturer’s warranty still remaining. I sourced the car for her having been requested to find the “nicest blue one” I could, which meant the car had to be one of the limited run Special Editions. This car was the best I could find anywhere in the UK and involved a 300 mile round trip to collect it for her.

The additional bonus of this particular car, and a feature that I can guarantee she has not used once, is the fact that the car’s performance had been upgraded to 173bhp and with a rise in torque to 274lb ft! On 14 Nov 2007, and with the mileage at 1,926, the car received a Superchips remap and K&N Panel Filter, installed professionally by Lorven Performance Services in Ipswich. On 18 Apr 2008, at 3,793 miles, a Miltek cat-back exhaust was fitted by MJS Services, also of Ipswich.

The car has been serviced in line with the manufacturer’s guidelines, with all but one service having been completed by an authorised Skoda dealership. The history reads as follows:-

2/5/07 – PDI, Hayes Garage Clacton

2/5/08 – 3,909 miles, Hayes Garage Clacton

14/4/09 – 7,936 miles, Dennis Horton & Son, Lincoln

26/4/10 – 10,306 miles, Robert Eardley & Son (main Skoda dealership in Crewe)

27/4/11 – 12,529 miles, Robert Eardley & Son, Crewe

25/4/12 – 13,933 miles, Robert Eardley & Son, Crewe

5/4/13 – 19,816 miles, DM Performance Cars, Chester, a local independent specialist that I always entrust my own car’s servicing work to.

In addition to the above annual servicing the car has received the following attention:-

14/8/09 – new battery.

10/6/11 - 12,661 miles, new cambelt supplied and fitted by Robert Eardley & Son, Crewe, as recommended at 4 years of age.

19/10/12 – 15,029 miles, new OS anti roll bar link supplied and fitted, DM Performance Cars.

23/1/13 – 17,733 miles, rear door seals removed and resealed (this has put a complete stop to the water that was beginning to enter at the base of the rear doors, apparently a commonly known Fabia issue).

1/5/13 – rear spoiler re-lacquered, minor bonnet scratches removed and stone chips repaired by Revive Auto Innovations.

The MOT history of the car reads as follows:-

26/4/10 – 10,305 miles

26/4/11 – 12,527 miles

25/4/12 – 13,932 miles

3/5/13 – 20,149 miles

Every MOT and receipt for work is supplied with the car, together with the Owner’s Book Pack containing all of the Manuals in pristine condition and the log book.

The car is in superb condition but to make perfect the new owner might want to fit new front floor mats, as they are the only thing that detract from an otherwise spotless interior, and have the alloy wheels refurbished as a small amount of corrosion can be found on closer inspection. However, this is being very picky and the car looks absolutely stunning!

The car is an amazing blend of performance and fuel economy with front seats that are incredibly comfortable whatever the length of the journey. However, with mileage now being added at a rate much faster than when in my mum’s care, we have decided as a family to part with it whilst it still offers a wonderful opportunity for someone who is looking for a genuine, low-mileage, incredibly well cared-for example that has provenance from day one.

Please note my mother is still the registered owner of the vehicle, despite having been unable to drive for the past 14 months.

I’m sorry but no test drives will be given unless the prospective buyer can provide written proof of full, comprehensive insurance cover for the car. I will be happy to take out anyone genuinely interested in purchasing the car as a passenger.

As a classic car club member myself I thought that BRISKODA members should have first opportunity to acquire this car before it is advertised elsewhere.

The car is priced at £6995.

If you've managed to get through to the end of this mammoth advert, thank you for reading and apologies for the rubbish photos - next time I'll choose a sunny day and when the car's clean!

Paul
