Recaro rear back conversion work

Featured Replies

Done some work on the smaller of the rear bench today

Had some fun with it, particularly trimming down extra foam removed at the release mechanism, removing the release mech to work out how everything lines up etc

It seems the old foam will fit with a bit of teasing.

I was deliberating whether the foam would fit and instead using the donor - but I think it would have looked awful.

Unfortunately found the leather short on the release part to the amount of about 1cm after I'd got it around the headrest section but done a fair job of removing a part of the leather which seemed to equally excess on the release due to poor positioning because of the model differences, then hand stitched it to where it would leave a gap.

I think its only marginally noticeable so quite happy with the progress - seems like the hardest bit of the work so far!

If I wasn't feeling awful due to cold I'd take a piccie of this minor progress

Warm up ... Then post a snap :)
