Anyone ????

Keep this about sorting the issue in hand out and if would be handy sandyvrs if you wound your neck in a little  -  Your location saying "looking to get away from crappy skodas" is doing no favours on this forum and is unlikely to encourage anyone at all to assist in your issue.

I have had the same fault on my 2008 TDI Vrs

After much messing around I found it was just wear causing the motor to over open the flap on shutdown.

For info lever forward = flap closed

I have used a simple modification which has proved successful over 3 weeks.

I tied some lock wire around the lever and attached it to the hoist bracket with a tie wrap and then tightened just enough to prevent over opening.

I am intending to fit a stop bolt or block eventually.

Diesel Geek in the USA have found the same and are selling machined stop blocks.

I have attached some pictures
