Yeti Monte Carlo

Featured Replies

Ok folks so I've just heard something through the grapevine as im sure most of you are aware there is a Fabia Monte Carlo, which I personally think looks 10x better than a standard Fabia, Well apparently next year we should be seeing a whole Monte Carlo range which includes a Yeti Monte Carlo, Don't know about you guys but im pretty interested to see it

Won't it just look like the Adventure in several colours?

All the Fabia MC seems to be is a "poncy" paint job, and certainly nothing to do with what was one of the greatest Motor Rallies in the world.

Or:

Monte Carlo is now said to be one of the richest but chaviest towns in the Europe, full of over-rich Russians, their siliconised mistresses, with more money than sense. Do you want a car with that reputation?

Whichever, no thanks!!

Now Graham don't go upsetting Mrs TP, she's very fond of her Fabia Monte Carlo

On a more serious note I think a Fabia MC is fine, it's effectively the old Fabia II Sport (dropped by SUK after the facelift), revamped to highlight this particular rallies heritage and Skoda's long association with the sport. Add to that it's Skoda's Fabia that is being used as the base for their current successful rally cars.

However I'm not so keen on the idea of using the Monte Carlo tag as a gimmick to attract customers across the range but it's inevitable I suppose, as the MC has sold in far higher numbers then Skoda ever dreamed possible and probably helped maintain sales of the ageing gracefully Fabia design. Hence why this Special Edition is still going far beyond it's original planned end date and yes it is a special, ours is anyway and has the option code to prove it :giggle:

I see nothing wrong in bringing out a special edition. Which on most cars are normally a bit better spec, some paint here and there and "free" goodies. So an MC Yeti sounds fine to me. It will be an Urban with just another name. But this time the name will be brand-wide which makes a lot more sense for resale values as normally special editions cars have the worst resale value of all. So an MC will be a good thing versus the short lived Urbans and Adventures come resale time...

What will it have? Probably just a black roof, sport seats, fake "carbon fibre" dash trim, different upholstery, Matterhorn wheels and perhaps darker tinted rear lights.
