Hi all! I have just had a direct fit single mass flywheel and clutch kit fitted to my 2004 vrs Fabia along with a new release bearing. Now I seem to have a fair old rumble in these conditions; at a stand still with the clutch engaged (mild rumble), while moving at very low revs with the clutch engaged and in gear (fairly mild rumble bearing type noise) and the worst is between 2-3k revs under 50%+ acceleration in any gear and is a fairly significant rumble/vibration which can be heard and felt through the pedals and gear stick.

 

This may be a silly question but is this just a bi-product of the solid flywheel?? Or something to be worried about?

At standstill with clutch engaged should be silent

At low rpm in say 1st / 2nd there will be a slight vibration / rumble until about 1500rpm when it becomes silent

And between 2k and 3k rpm should also be silent

I only get vibes/rattles when in neutral, clutch up.

Out of interest, what clutch and flywheel setup is it?

smf seem to get different results on different cars tbh some are fine and others are noisy hence why most people replace with like for like dmf

I'n not 100% actually, it was supplied by my VAG master tech and was brand new.

Its not concerning me as such, just wondered what peoples experiences were! I prefer the drive otherwise against the DMF

Its a Sachs kit but not sure on the flywheel

Could it be incorrectly balanced or not fitted centrally on the crank?
