KW V1 OR V2 For Octavia MK1 VRS ?

Featured Replies

Hai my purpose is just to lower the car in maximum down but i want a good brand product so please suggest me a good coils , what is the difference between kw V1 and kw V2 ? whether V2 lowers more ?

Kw v1 or V2's for just lowering! are you mad!

If its just lows go for something cheaper, like FK, AP, Prosport, Vmaxx, weitec

Kw's are one of the best kits around mainly so handling and reasonable lows... For just lows you using less than 10% of their potential thats like taking a machete to a heart transplant.

Save yourself some £££ and buy something cheaper for just lows.

The primary difference between the KW v1, v2 and for that matter v3 is their performance

The v1's are just height adjustable, the v2 has dampening adjustment and the v3 adds rebound to this, but these features are secondary to the actual performance of the shock unit.

As the you go up the range the ability of the shock absorber to be firm and yet still flexible enough to cope with all manner of lumps and bumps in the road surface increases

The ultimate version of the v3 shock absorbers have secondary expansion chambers to handle the effect of foaming oil under extreme load

As said if you only after look and not performance then save your money.

I have a new set of v3 but they not cheap

I went v1's for the same reason :D

But time over id go weitecs or v3s

Hog or whole hog ;)

No point wasting money on v3 on your car lol designed for track and fast road lol

V3 are amazing but even better if setup properly ;-)

so is there any difference is lowering between v1 or v2 ? i want to touch the fenders in tyre lol :D :D haha

Nothing wrong with buying quality parts, buy cheap buy twice as they say. After going for a spin in some cars with cheap coilovers on I wouldnt put FKs or Prosports anywhere near my car!

If you really want to go low, air might be worth considering

This is a Golf 4 kit, but has been done on the mk1 Octavia

Lol think I might need to sauce a nice mk1 again just to use these coilies.

Should of had that rarb off you clive.

I have V2's which are great but take a bit of setting up. I think you will find that the V2 are Rebound adjustment only and not damping. They do have a superior shock over the V1 and likewise so do the V3 over the V2 being that the V3 is fully damping adjustable and rebound.

No difference what so ever on KW V1, V2 and V3 in terms of how low you can take them, and if it was considerable lowering you were after then i would stay away from cheap coilovers as they just can't handle being low low. The rebound is not up to it. That is why I went V2's as even my Weitecs that are made in same factory as the KW and the AP's, (albeit different MFG lines). were very crashy when lowered extreme. I would prefer quality over cheapness if it was to get a best result in doing so. There are some more alternative to KW out there that maybe more affordable but if you want the best  KW is it by a long way. To stop the crashy when running low  you need proper shortened shock coilovers and with a rebound that will cope with the ride..

I think I would prefer the V1, as I don't want to setup the car as (like Hammond said) you keep on changing the settings all the time. Is the V1 nicely balanced on B roads? Like a proper modern hot hatch come out of factory these days?
