When does your oil warning light flash?

Featured Replies

I check my oil regular, last time less than a month ago and all was fine but today for the first time on my miles clock "oil" flashed up so thought bloody hell best check that out but was half maybe just over. I was expecting it to be on minimum. Topped it up anyway but does everyone (those who have had it) flash about half full/empty?

doesnt the mile counter say oil when it wants servicing?

Was thinking that but thought it might say service, cheers for the heads up thought it was odd it wasnt that low. Probably would of clicked when the spanner stayed on in the morning :D

You sure its not oil pressure?

I would think a seperate light for oil pressure, service light on the LCD screen.

Typically a flashing oil pressure can means check oil or 'low oil pressure' - and when you have low oil pressure your in the ****.

it is a service light reminder. Bigger service display will show inspect.

Cheers guys, was planning on doing a service on my christmas break anyway so not bad timing.

What he said you can reset yourself can't remember exactly but it's in the handbook I think mine did this just after I serviced it

My oil warning light (pic of oil can) came up a few days ago when I started the car, it then went out. On the second day I noticed it I checked the oil level and it was waaaaaay down. I would have liked more of a heads up! This car is new and has only done 3,600km!

Oil sensor has been replaced under warranty. Skoda service said it was faulty and would have been giving false warnings?
