VRS Blackline

Featured Replies

not far off Half price i would think

Almost suspiciously cheap, IMO. 'Quick Sale' is all well and good, but that's too much money to lose so I'd be worried that it has something to hide.

I traded in mine last month and got 16k for it, same age in white and a dsg. Someone, even a dealer would buy this for cash for 12k at least, imo.

Looking at the detail in the add its not a blackline. The red stitching isnt on my seats and the vrs logo on mine has no colours either. There is also no mention of the rear parking sensors and its got the bolero stereo not the amundsen so has no sat nav or DAB.

Could it be an import?

Either way it doesn't appear to be a blackline. If it is it will say so on the v5 as its a model in its own right. It might be one of the last mk2 standard cr vRS' s they just raided the parts bin for and used what they had left.

If i am looking at the correct car, silver estate - YK13 PYD, then it is listed as an Octavia VRS TDI CR registered on 7/3/2013.

It is not a Blackline.

The link isn't now on the original car.

Theres a Yellow one for sale on the same link,  Inka Yellow, New colour?  is someone talking Shi*e and the Estates Canary Yellow with wheels having more craters than the moon

The listings now gone so looks like something dodgy going on....

CmB, yes I think that was the one I was looking at too (I think LOL). Black wheels and bloke was apparently going abroad. Said he'd got it from DM Keith.

When I was looking for my daughter's car recently, there was a plethora of dodgy adverts about. Often there is no car at all it seems, just pictures ripped off from some garage and a ridiculous low price. Someone rings up, probably pays a deposit and then never sees or hears from the seller again. I would always say if it looks too good to be true, steer clear, especially if there is an e-mail address added to the pictures but not in text of the advert. This makes it harder to weed out the bogus advertisers as the pictures are not so easily scanned automatically.

Adam

Was it the race blue, sounds ridiculously cheap at just over 7k would suspect something was up at that price.

Leave well alone I would say.

wow 7100? Thats bizarre. Has to be a scam, though surely there cant be someone out there who would think thats a real price on such a car and be silly enough to pay a deposit on it...or is there? Scary thought

You would hope so wouldn't you but presumably people wouldn't try this on if there wasn't a market for it?

Indeed, other than the wheels, red stitched alcantara and silver roof bars looks completely standard. Its probably at least 1k overpriced as a private sale; nice car though and vendor probably not meaning to mislead with the blackline description
