KW V1 or Bilstein B14

Featured Replies

After spending weeks pondering over suspension, looking at cheaper kits and reading many threads I've decided to bite the bullet and buy some decent suspension. Do it once and do it right kind of thing..

I've narrowed it down to either KW V1's or Bilstein B14's both come in at around £700.

Has anyone got specific experience with either.

They will be used for fast road use and 3/4 track days next year along with the annual ring trip.

The Bilsteins are from awesome-gti and seem good value compared to everywhere else where they're around £800 but I know the KW's are tried and tested on the fabia by a few people.

All opinions welcome :)

What about D2 racing? Fully adjuatable, adjuatable top mounts too ! Awesome bit of kit, if I ever get rid of my AP's that's what ill be going for I think

I'm running kW v1s inox and I am very impressed with the ride quality. Techie aka ross fitted them and I watched him and it's very well made and he was impressed by the quality too.

Hmm. The bilsteins are monotube though.

(And have little Nurburgring stickers on :) )

I have V1's also. Cant fault them, done a track day on them, performed well, nice on the road and not over stiff for coilovers. Chuffed with them, had them over 2 years now.

Their not dampening adjustable are they? If I was paying in that region for a set I'd definately be wanting more adjustment than just ride height

No just height.

That doesn't overly bother me though as I don't think i'd ever mess with them.

I think I will try the bilsteins.
