Looks like their going to be using Civic estates in the BTCC next year. Are they trying to emulate the Volvo 850's from the 90's? I mean they caused a fair stir when they turned up for the first round of the season.

My understanding was that the estates were banned after Volvo's first season as the longer roof line increased rear downforce.

 

Mind you, what the are proposing to use looks even uglier than the hatch!

I assume the btcc will have decided "estate" quite technically so that they can uphold the regulations. The Civic is atourer and I can only assume it is allowed under whatever these regulations are
