It means your due a service.

Turn it off by key in ignition turn your trip re set button to the right(hold for 10 secs)with ignition on.IIRC.

Mine has just come on but it's less than 2 months since the last service. I've had the car less than a year so when the "oil" service light came up I put it in for a full service.

Why does one come on again so soon after a service? It hasn't done a huge mileage in that two months, I would have expected it to start the clock again at the last reset.

Is it ok to reset it and ignore it and what will that do for the next alert?

Thanks

Check the oil level on the dipstick !

Every week and it's been steady since the service.

(I was talking about the service interval indicator btw not any warning light.)

Like Mr Rooney says means you are due a service, I believe the light comes on 30 days before you are due a service. You can reset yourself again I think Mr Rooney has that right, otherwise check the handbook it does say in there.

Red Studio, maybe the garage didn't reset the light? Is it definately the service inspection you had both times? If you didn't then I suspect that's why you've now got this light.

I think they probably reset only the oil interval as that was the one that came up. They did the full inspection as well as I hadn't had the car long and didn't want to have anything skipped. My book has a stamp for the same thing more or less annually.

Will probably just reset it myself this time and get the full inspection again next time and have them both reset then. (Checked the oil again this morning and it still hasn't moved  .)

Thanks all for the help.

Ok cheers. Will do that tonight.

What needs doing on this service? Off the top of my head I think it's done around 90000 miles.

Thanks.
