Front fogs as DRL independent of handbrake

Featured Replies

Have set this and being using it for quite some time now and find it quite useful, however I don't like the fact that applying the parking brake switches these off as in stop-start traffic on a hill I am concerned that this could be confused by other road users as a 'signal' to cross etc Is there anyway of enabling these without the North American setting i.e. to have them run constantly with the ignition provided the main beam is off?

I did an 06 foglight as DRL code, couldn't find anything non handbrake dependent. Unless someone know of a manual HEX coding that can be entered/changed on the pre FL?

There are two types of DRL setting on the pre-FL Octavia.

1) North American (as you have it now) - dipped headlights only, on when the handbrake is off, off when the handbrake is on.

2) Scandinavian - dipped headlights, sidelights, reat tail lights and number plate lights, on with the ignition, off when the ignition is turned off.

As mentioned above it is also possible to use the front fog lights (if fitted) instead of dipped headlights for either of the above settings.

Thank you for the reply. The Scandinavian setting isn't what I'm after as I don't want to run all the other lighting along with the front DRL, is there anyway of running Scandinavian without the number plate/tail/side lights and just the forward facing DRL?

No, not as far as I am aware, your only option now would be an aftermarket LED DRL kit?
