iPhone 5s and bolero Bluetooth

Featured Replies

My first post! Only bought my first skoda on Saturday and so far quite impressed. Wish I had bought one with a bigger engine though :-)

Right. I have connected my phone to the bolero no problem and it stream music very well. Problem is I can't start and stop the music or skip tracks without using the iPhone

I have no mdi socket fitted. My dealer tells me that's impossible. Not sure I agree with that

So .. Is it possible to have the controls on the touchscreen in the car working ? Or the ones in the steering wheel

Any help welcome. If I can't sort this out the car is going back to skoda to be exchanged for a different model. I'm open to all kinds of wacky solutions but I can't fit them myself so recommended specialists probably needed

Thanks

Julia

Hi

The headunit and Bluetooth module might not support your phone . I've got a columbus fitted to mine and an iPhone 4 and like you everything works but I have same prob as you .

Sorry not been much help but I do know somebody will be along shortly with the answer .

Cheers whoosh

MDI is very easy to fit and provides a good integration with the pre-lightning model I-phones/pads

MDI and loom can be got from ebay (You might loose the CD changer but no hardship if you're using an Iphone)

A decent indy should be able to install it for you but its not difficult, might just need a bit of coding.

IIRC mine cost circa £110.

Thanks for the replies

I found a solution eventually

There is this bit of kit called 'mobile home' that works with the existing Bluetooth and uses built in microphone.

It's basically a Siri button remote.

So I can tell Siri which music to play ... And access all the other Siri function using this small clip button that I can attach anywhere in the car and leave the damn phone in my handbag. So I can start and stop music and play playlists or artists as I wish from my voice.

I think this solution may help others too :/)
