Oil change or not?

Featured Replies

I have a nearly 4 yr old octy coming up for its timing belt, water pump and coolant all around end February 14. My maxi dot is showing service in 2500 miles or 30 days. It's on fixed with a dpf and dealer serviced till now. I guess that's vw507 due to the dpf. So question is do I go for an oil and filter change in 30 days or run the car till end February closer to the 2500 miles limit when the mot and belt, pump and coolant is due anyway. Car was on variable 18600 miles regime before till 56k and I believe the oil is the same regardless due to vw507 being long life. I replace pollen, air filters myself. Brake fluid done last year. Car sits in garage quite a bit during the week due to my works van and wife's company car now taking the strain that she once clocked the octys miles up.

Just run it until end of Feb, will be fine, I have run over miles for a service by a lot in the past had no adverse effects.

I concur, run it till feb, would have been 2 years on variable so the extra 50 days on fixed will make no difference as long life oil will have been used anyway.
