Warning lights, battery related?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I got a strange one with my LE Octavia vrs last night, the amber oil level warning light came on along with the left indicator & when the cruise control was switched on, the right indicator & power steering warning light came on. The oil level is fine & this only seems to happen when the headlights are switched on and there is a load on the battery.

My question is, could this be caused by a battery starting to fail?

I sometimes leave my car parked for 2-3 weeks at a time without being started as I work offshore, obviously this isn't good for the battery so is it worth replacing it in the hope that it solves the problem?

I had the battery tested today & it was showing 12.something v without the engine running.

Thanks in advance!

Anyone near you who can scan it? It should log a code if it is a low battery. How about trickle charging it and seeing if the warning lights stop?

Sent from my phone so please excuse brevity and spelling
