Which chain tyre bay is the best?

Featured Replies

Need a tyre bay in the Wimbledon/south west london area that'll also do me a proper tracking adjustment and check over.

Who'd you recommend? Etyres, F1autocentres, kwik-fit (I'm guessing not), national?

I've had nothing but issues with Kwik-Fit. ATS on the other hand, at least my local one, have been nothing but helpful. Took it in a couple of months back for a tracking check, sat in the waiting room for 20  - 25 mins and they came back and said, 'it's spot on'. Charge? £0.00 (including the VAT).

Forgot to mention, the screenwash low warning light was on, they even topped that up for free :)

I had a really good experience with National recently.

Bathwick are an always avoid for me and Kwik fit, did a good job at one place, but on the whole are not great.

So much variability between branches it's impossible to say.

The ATS where I used to live was very good, the guys did a decent job and the manager was on the level.

My current local one doesn't have a very good rep at all.

I tend to find myself using independent guys mostly now after doing a lot of asking around. So far so good.

For wheel alignment the consensus seems to be find a place using a Hunter rig. http://www.alignmycar.co.uk/ will show you your local one.

Why'd you want to take it to a chain? Find a good Indi!

I got my last set mine through blackcircles.com.. Good prices and they tend to deal with reputable garages..
