Quite Shocked

Featured Replies

Just rang Adrian Flux and was very disappointed, although they were very polite I can't understand how I can be quoted £4000 a year for a 1.4 Fabia I thought it would be cheaper than that. Looks like it's back to the push bike for me. Absolute madness.

:o

Wow, that is crazy, more than double what you had quoted online and that was steep.

Did you mention you had quotes from elsewhere.

Did they give any suggestion what was causing it to be so high?

It's ridiculous isn't it

Yeah I mentioned the other quotes alls they said was that it was a cheap quote.

They didn't mention why it was so much, at this rate I'm going to have to ditch the car I can't afford the amounts asked I'm only an apprentice haha.

I think it's crazy how they can charge that much on a car that's worth less than a grand, £4000 is mental

Sounds like a Quote which says, 'we would rather not provide you with insurance, please move along and get it from someone else'.

Quite Common.

Yeah it does doesnt it, just going to have to shop around a lot, didn't really want a different car but if it's going to be cheaper to insure something else then will have to buy a different car, considering getting back on the motorbikes aswell

Adam,

If you can PM me your name and Post code, i'll have a look at your quote and try to find out why we were unable to compete.

Many thanks

Dan.

Thanks Dan just PM'd you the details any help is grateful thank you

Have you tried looking at a comparable age similar engine size car on Autotrader something like a fiesta and doing a quote online based on something else.

I can't see that a 1.4 Skoda Fabia would be a "hot" car for insurance claims.  But it's still worth benchmarking

My circumstances are totally different but my Mk2 Fabia vRS came out very economical compared to my previous 1.6HDI Peugeot :o

I'm might try that see if it is down to the Fabia but like you say I can't see it being "hot" either

I don't understand what figures insurance goes off myself...

Bloody hell there another lad whose got his VRS insured for 1100 aswell, my postcode must be really bad

Flux specialise in modified cars so non-modified cars are more expensive to insure.

Got a quote for my standard Superb 1.9TDI, 40 years old, 9 years NCB, bit of a dodgy postcode – £900

Got it remapped and Eibach suspension fitted – £450 :wonder:

The whole thing's a stitch up :wall:

Yep, standard risks aren't what Flux are about - they specialise in the stuff other insurance companies don't want to know about.

I had a modified Honda CR-V (mainly ICE install) insured with Flux, including cover for green lane off-roading use, for a really good price (£500), which was less than quotes for a standard CR-V.  When I changed it for a (completely standard) Honda Jazz (which now belongs to the Missus) which was a far lower insurance group, my renewal was £800!  I got it insured through a Confused search for £400.  To be fair to the girl I spoke to at Flux, she tried her best to get close, but they were still £200 more expensive.

Have you tried Chris Knott?

Not yet, I didn't know that they existed until I joined Briskoda.  I'll give everyone a chance to quote and the winner will get my business!
