Fiscon Basic Plus - Still Available?

Featured Replies

Well I'm more than a month into my Skoda experience and I'm loving every minute of it!

The car hasn't missed a beat and coupled with the nice roads round here it makes me smile.

Anyhow, other than a good clean and polish I haven't found the need to do anything else other than check vital fluids etc however I now need a Bluetooth car kit for my phone.

I've decided on the Fiscon Basic Plus as you guys seem to rate it and there are some good fitting guides available on the forum too.

Having gone to the Kufatec website and clicked on the following kit http://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/en/fiscon-bluetooth-solution/fiscon-bluetooth-handsfree-basic-plus-vw-skoda it doesn't seem to be available to order.

Rather than me attempting to make contact with these guys I wondered if anyone knew whether the kit was just out of stock or whether it had been discontinued and replaced with something else.

I've left it a bit late for Crimbo but I'm not in a mad rush to get the kit but it would be nice to have it to fit early in the new year.

Another question too, I'm running a 10 plate FL VRS Octy with a Bolero headunit and maxidot, am I right in thinking it should just be a plug and play situation or might I need to bribe someone with tea and biscuits to code it to work with the maxidot?

Any help would be very useful, and have a great Crimbo! :sun:

Cheers

Tbh i never use mine via maxidot. It's clunky to navigate with the stalks and you can't see much text on the narrow display. Much easier to use via the Bolero touch screen (which should work without any coding).

I found the OEM route to be more cost effective. Eddie-NL sourced the stuff for me, and it works a treat with my Columbus.

Maybe a PM to him might save a few bob.

The main issue I have with the Fiscon is the lack of any AVRC support. So you don't see the track names on either the Bolero or maxidot nor can you skip tracks. So you need to have your phone mounted to have any kind of control over what you want to play. The more recent OEM modules allow you a small amount of control of what's playing and indeed see the track names.
