Well that was a shock

Just seen this http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2013/dec/17/allan-mcnish-retire-le-mans

Can't believe that he has decided to retire from endurance racing at the age of 44. Going to be very disappointing not having someone specifically to follow next year at Le Mans.

I could substitute Webber but I have never been a Porsche fan.

Probably have to settle for the ZEOD.

Saw it on Twitter - he's going on an adventure!

I'm very disappointed to hear this as well given next year hopefully is going to be a good year for FIA WEC with Toyota putting some fantastic challenges and Porsche joining in next year, it seems really odd that McNish won't be a part of it.

I'm guessing that his contract had possibly come to an end? So it was a choice of driving for a lesser team or not driving at all.

He had made a couple of monumental mistakes in recent years which cost him one if not two wins, however, he was ever the racer. Hence why he always drove the first stint at Le Mans.
