In the market for an octavia vrs and looking for some tips

Featured Replies

Hi I have just joined and am looking to buy a Octavia vrs.

Any tips on what's best to look for in an Octavia vrs would be good.

Cheers

Jonny

Depends on the engine tbh. But from my experience, as long as it's been cared for then it's usually all good.

There are always loads of horror stories, dual masses, DPF's on diesels, tfsi's expiring

Can't happen to everyone tho, so pick a good one and you'll be fine

P.s. Mines for sale. Check the classifieds.

Diesel / petrol?

and how old?

Diesel about 07/08

Timing belt changes at 4yr

Injector recall

Check the sills for rust/bubbling just above the stone chip paint.

See if the Teves Mk60 ESP braking modules has been changed if not it'll probably break in the next year or so (~£300).

Check the rear tyres for uneven wear i.e. wearing like 50ps on the inner edge.

On the whole the Octys are pretty well screwed together but at that ages you have to expect the odd thing.
