Just remove headrests, there will be loads you can put straight in

Now matching them, that is more difficult if you are looking to be really fussy.

I suspect you will need to buy headrest seat covers from ebay or somewhere - no hardship if you got the seats for a bargain. Sorting out the headrests may make it slightly less of a bargain that you thought if you are that fussy.

Or get an upholsterer to redo material on them.

If the rests themselves are destroyed you can still use standard mk1 fabia vrs ones....I think.

I've actually got some headrests complete, much like these but they just wouldn't suite the sportiness of these particular seats anyway but gives you an idea. You'd really want the fabia vrs ones. I don't think Golf or Recaro ones would work, from what I can tell they have much wider headrest pillars.

Niiiice! Where did you find them and what did they set you back? Would like to put a set of these in my MK1!!

Check the price from Skoda. Trust me they are very, very easy to replace the covers. I mean they are half off already lols

Would I need to get covers made or could I buy covers?

You'll probably be able to buy the covers from Skoda but you'll need to do your own homework on that and talk to them ! They might only do full sets though, I don't actually know.

- OR wait until they show up like on ebay etc, but doesn't seem to be much about from what I can see - part of the risk of getting stuff so new like this unfortunately.

If you were dead desperate or as a temporarily measure you could get some fabia vRS ones died black or something ? Looks like the headrests (and seats) are more or less same construction as the Fabia vRS/sport. In fact maybe you could get some sports headrests that would go straight in and not look too far off.

They come off so easily its hardly a problem is it, no seat dismantling needed to remove the rests so you could always swap in better ones at a later date.

I am sure in time there will though as sellers tap into the MK2s parts market so you might see them on ebay in time.

Also a much more practical colour! Did they do them in leather?

i got a centre headreast cover from skoda dealer for mk1 seats and it was around the £20 mark inc postage .... so personally i would get 2 delivered from skoda and then re trim your mk1 headrests

Il ring local skoda dealer tomorrow, I have the mk 2 headrests which are fine, it's just the black cover has melted of them. Must b a nylon sort of material

Its just a cover mate and ridiculously easy to remove them, dunno why you don't to it already

The loose headrest has the slot in the base, push a driver into the gap and kind of pull/feed out the plastic wide clip.

Once its out the cover should stretch off (reverse) over the headrest. Its a piece of p.

Although the state of those above you could probably remove them in the reverse of how they are normally done lol. They look knackered and unsalveagable as material to me anyway.

Then you can take the burnt cover down to dealers more easily for comparison purposes on getting the right covers.

Seats look good bud. What's your plans for the rears? Take it that's where most of the fire damage on the mk2 was.
