Hi All, 

 

Picked up my TDI vRS Hatch, Race Blue, at 3pm yesterday (20/12). One word sums it up so far:

 

Awesome! 

 

Massive Step up from the 1.9TDI Fabia i've been driving (for sale if anyone is interested!), Ride is a firm but not overly so, sticks to the road, bucket loads of power. I'm a Happy Chap

 

Cabin is very spacious (im not the smallest person in the world), seats are comfortably and the ergonomics of the controls is spot on. 

 

Ordered the Car 23/08/13 and was Built week 48. So 17 Weeks from Order to Delivery. Better than the 1st March delivery date i was quoted at one point! 

 

Will do some decent photos tomorrow! 

 

Plan at somepoint soon is to get a Blackvue installed, which could be interesting!

I keep swaying from Race Blue is too common to Race Blue is AWESOME! Saw one in the dealer on Thursday and it just looks fantastic. Not Audi flash but just very smart and purposeful. Great car and the colour really suits.

Race blue is the best colour IMO. Hehe

This is what I've ordered (except I didn't get black pack and had silver stitch seats) mines coming late Jan/early Feb. Can't wait. 

Kid if you find my thread somewhere on Vin Diesel you will see you more photos. I went race blue estate no black pack (prefer the chrome). Also if you don't already have some it's worth getting some chrome cleaner

Lady V does yours have Chrome or Black trim underneath the windows down the side of the car? I like the chrome round the grill but am hopeful for black underneath the side windows - have seen photos of both so seems a lottery!

Neily is correct. I wouldnt have minded chrome window trim. Wasnt bothered either way on that front but like the chrome grill and body coloured wing mirrors 

Yes black mirrors a definite no for me. Seems like a backwards step to the days when they were made of plastic!

 

I like the silver between the black grill and the blue. I would have actually paid to have non-black pack as an option if it was standard fit!

I second the lady with the chrome grill. Ours also has the earlier standard wheels which I didn't want but now prefer! Race blue looks superb even now after a week of Yorkshire grime!

Shouldn't take more than 30 minutes if get the info about the glovebox, fusebox etc... first.

Race Blue for me too- chrome trim will be the new Blackpack! The way things are going, with purchased specs options going for Blackpack .

 

I like the more understated Chrome look with Body colour mirrors,etc.

 

Only niggle I have with chrome internal fittings, is the reflection of door handles into the door mirrors-distracting at times.

I have got the SE in Race Blue and it has had many compliments with one guy even arguing about it being a VRS.

Thanks BossFox, will have a gander, not very good with Cars so could be an interesting attempt! 

 

Took the Car upto Sheffield last night for the Ice Hockey (300 mile round trip) - We lost :(

 

Averaged about 48MPG. Car is a beauty to drive on the motorway, did get a chance to give Lane Assist a go as well, works rather well, scared my rear seat passenger nicely though  

 

Attracted quite a bit of attention when we stopped at the motorway services too which was nice.
