CCV questions...

Featured Replies

I'm going to get a catch can setup in the near future, but in the meantime I want to fit my FMIC over my Christmas break. However, I want to clean out the system completely and do the elephant mod as a temporary solution so that it doesn't undo all my cleaning efforts!

First question is what have people used chemical wise to clean out their intakes? I intend on removing the inlet manifold to completely clean everything out properly. Will take a while longer but should be worth the effort.

Second question is exactly what length of 19mm oil resistant hose is required so that it'll come out by the N/S console? I've had a read through several threads, but can't find an exact length that's required. I'd obviously only rather buy 1m if that's all that I need!

Cheers all!

Wouldn't bother with a catch can unless you were going to spend the best part of £100 on a good one, I got one of the cheap ones off eBay and it was crap, oil started leaking out of the bottom because of the pressure. I'll be getting a Saikou michi or something like that when I've got the cash

Yeah my thoughts exactly Tom. I'm going to get one of the ones that was being sold in the group buy. Getting ones with a 19mm inlet/outlet is a pain in the arse anyway, and I don't fancy excess pressure. I'm planning on doing it properly eventually and routing it back to the inlet.

In the meantime though, the elephant mod will keep my inlet clean (once I've cleaned it!).
