Ive had a quick search but could not find anything.

Car is a 2006 octavia vrs 2.0tfsi with cruise

Basically when i select the indicator stalk to to turn right i get one quick flash of the left first, then when the stalk resets itself to the neutral position i get the three left indications.

Im going to try and spray some contact cleaner in the stalk.

any other suggestions?

Most 'strange' indicator issues on the MkII are caused by a failing stalk.

 

Cleaning the contacts should do the trick.

Easy to stake the stalk apart?

Not sure as I've never done it. Apparantly the stalks on early cars (such as yours) were susceptible to failure and were revised...

The stalk just pops apart, can be opened with your fingernail, but the module in there is just for cruise control I believe, for indicator issues I'm guessing you want to concentrate efforts at the base of the stalk which would involve taking the steering wheel off etc.
