Hey all,

 

Been lurking the last few weeks whilst doing my due dilligence and investigation on my car purchase!

 

Finally bit the bullet and ordered a Skoda Octavia. Been driving a VW Passat PD130 Estate for the last 4 years and being over 10 yr old, it's starting to creak a little with various electric niggles and looking a bit tired. One of the main reasons for change is that average service bills, repairs and general running costs for it are getting more and more each year.

 

I've been set on getting a car with the new TDI CR 184 engines for sometime, given that left me with the Gold GTD, Octavia vRS or the new Leon, i've pimarily been focused on those three. I always as well wanted a DSG having test drove a few DSG's in the past. I personally think the vRS is awesome looking with an excellent spec and good value for money with current deals going so that in the end was the final choice! Golf was a bit pricey and not as practical (needed an estate ideally) and the Leon ST was still not released, also for some reason they do not list it with a DSG in the car builder yet!

Haven't got a build date yet, got my order number from Skoda earlier but still says that it's awaiting a build week. I've been told April/May time which seems to fit in with what others have said on here. I'm hoping it will fly by

 

Ordered through CarFile which I have to say were excellent to deal with, literally a couple of phone calls to discuss the deal and such, put me in touch directly with Dealer, got official numbers from them and paid up the deposit. Got a decent discount considering I wanted to use the 0% finance deal before it was withdrawn!

 

Anyhows, just wanted to say hi to all and looking forward to joining the vRS club (so to speak!)

Welcome Matt, sounds good to me, collection of Tdi Estate collection has now been put back to next Monday, can't wait...

Well it's now been half a week of the anticipated 20 week wait so I think I've been patient enough and shall phone SUK to see what I can find out, lol.
