Bleed nipple thread size

Featured Replies

Anyone know the thread size of the bleed nipple please? One of mine has snapped and need to get it out to put a new one in, cheers.

if it's 10mm it's most likely  10x1mm model spark plug thread---  NOT metric fine which is 10mmx1.25    double check first

I do believe that the favourite thread pitch in general is 1.5mm it's just the diameter that is the main question.

Personally I would go to SKODA and buy the correct nipple which would give you nipple diameter and correct thread pitch.

if your careful cant you tap an easyout in to the nipple and slowly remove it without damaging the threads?

Yes and run some brake fluid in to act as release fluid, warning, using very cheap "easy outs" will give you even more problems - try to buy proper ones and of the correct size!

Google tells me

M6 x 1

So its a very fine thread

thats how i would do it anyway .... i would use drilling and tapping as a last resort as if you dont drill square or snap a drill bit you could end up needing a new caliper

If you snap a tap you aint getting it out lol
