Stereo troubles

Featured Replies

My shiney new Double Din stereo for my Fabia arrived today. But I couldn't get it working.

Turns out my Ignition 12v wire is dead (yellow) so I've had to bridge two wires onto the constant 12v feed to get it working.

Is the 12v Ignition wire on a fuse on the fuse box. I had a look through the list and seen stereo but the original stereo worked fine so I guess that fuse would be OK.

does your car use canbus?

If you are really stuck there might be a spare ignition live in the interior fuse box you can use

The original stereo would work quiet happily with a single 12V feed, even if the fuse in the other was blown. The switched 12V supply is indeed fused at the fusebox.

it would work but wont turn off when you turn off the car

Thanks for the replys guys.

Ryan how would I find out if it has the canbus and what difference does it make.

Don't suppose you would know what fuse it's on.

Just now I've got the stereo running fine from the constant 12v but I get annoyed switching it on & off all the time cos I do a lot of small journeys doing deliverys so it's better for me to have it switching off with the ignition.
