Spark plugs and coils for 1.8 vrs

Featured Replies

hi there, I'm trying to learn more about my engine in my mk 1 vrs.

I'm also doing a general service my self .

I was wondering if any you peops on here could advise me spark plugs and coils for the plugs?

I understand I need

NGK pfr6q plugs

06b905115r coils

however I have heard that the audi coils are better?

do you know where I could get stone genuine ones for at a good price?

any info or advice/secrets would be great.

cheers for any help. Dave

Hi There welcome to Briskoda

Servicing these cars is pretty basic and you should have no issues

NGK pfr6q plugs are correct for a std running VRS and the best ones to go for

Gap them to .32" or 0.8mm

For Coils 06b905115r is also correct. These are the more reliable ones and ones that Audi,Seat and VW fit anyway to same 1.8T engines.

There are alternative coil packs but TBH not worth going for on a std VRS. The ones above are perfectly ok. Also maybe worth you calling Skoda and checking if your car is part of the coil pack recall as that may still be running. Lot's of folks on this site (including me) have benefited from a FOC replacement of coil packs from dealership.

I have a '54' plate Vrs and have just had the coil pack replaced by Skoda, Definitely worth giving them a ring!
