Heater problem

Featured Replies

Hallo mates

I have some problems with my heater

The air fun works properly

I have problem with hot air

I change my heat exchanger with a new one because the old one was leaking

The problem is now that when in idle don t have hot air even if the temperature is 90c

I usually have hot air after 10mins of running and only if i have speed over 50km/h

I have the right fluid and all hoses are hot.

My mechanic don t know what is going on

Me neither

Any advices are welcome

Air lock.

Take the headertank cap off, put the heater on full hot, start the engine & bring it up to 90c holding the rpm's at about 3000. Once up to 90c give it 5 mins or so with 3000 rpms. Top up headertank if neccessary, let the engine cool down & check level again.

Early signs of broken plastic blades in water pump?

Was the water pump checked or changed at last timing belt change?

Good point.

Check that you have flow from the small headertank return pipe.

It could be a flow problem (water pump), but as it was OK before you replaced the heater matrix, I would suggest an air lock.
