Iphone 5S battery life

Featured Replies

Good morning, hope you all had a good Xmas, thought I would bring this query here as many of you will use the phone in question

Currently got a Samsung galaxy s4, such an amazing phone for daily use, E.g. Facebook, eBay, Web browsing, tapatalk for briskoda, taking few pictures and texting, it does everything you would really need a phone to do but the one downside to the phone which bugs me slightly is the size, it's pretty uncomfortable in jeans etc as the pockets are never deep enough, buying clothes to suit a phone is ridiculous so I'm tempted by the 5s as all reviews seem to say it has an edge over this phone which is already perfect so that's fine I have no issues that It's going to be impressive, the only downside to Apple is the fact you cannot change a battery, what sort of battery life do people get on here now the phones been out a couple months and they should all be "ran in", I charge my phone every night with around 20% left and unplug in the morning for work and it lasts me up until about 12 midnight easily with medium use (sometimes heavy), does the iPhone perform as well as this?, the iPhone feels perfect in my hand and sits perfect in your pocket, if anyone has doubts about the phone I may just deal with the size of the galaxy s4 and the fact if the battery life got poor I would buy another

Thanks

Samsung Galaxy S4 mini would seem a good option, if your happy with the normal S4 as is and are not that keen on the whole fruit thing.

I have the IPhone 5s. Mines now 'run in' as I had it from launch

I had a 3GS before and the battery life was terrible. I find the 5s will need charging every night if you use it a lot.

The main things I like is the speed - it's so fast. Also Siri works very well indeed. I use it an awful lot.

An s4 mini has nothing special, they really dumb the phones down which is a shame, but I'm used to charging my phone every night anyway

The only time I find the 5S battery to be poor is when I'm in an area with poor coverage. If you are trying to do anything that needs data access without 3g it will really hammer the battery life.

Other than that it's fine for me, and I think you just have to accept that any modern smartphone will need a daily charge. A very small price to pay for how much they can do.

As above, if you're a medium or higher user you'll be charging any smartphone every day.

The reason earlier iPhones lasted longer was that they didn't support multi tasking and limited massively what ran in the background.

Sorry, daily charging doesn't bother me, would always leave home with a fully charged battery in the morning, I've been told there's a way to cut off running background apps so that can also save battery life

I moved from the Galaxy S4 to the iPhone 5s because I just couldn't get on with it, the iPhone battery life is far far longer and the iPhone is just easier to use.

Thanks, I had a chat with someone from Apple today in store, I like the sound of applecare and being able to book yourself in and get the phone repaired or replaced with the warranty, such a nice phone in your hand compared to the s4, can't always get a good grip with one hand

I know its not a 5s but i have an iphone5 before this i had a 4s and before that a 3g. None of them had great battery life tbh but that hasnt stopped me buying more. There fantastic phones. One thing i noticed is that if 3G data is not enabled the battery does last alot longer for example when i was in spain and turkey my battery lasted days, admittedly i wasnt using the phone as much as i would in the uk tho. In this day and age with imessages, whatsapp, facebook etc.. You really do need 3G enabled though.

And tbh, neither apple or samsung can make a battery that lasts a full day of heavy use. I can flatten mine in 3hours if i want

I have 5s and my battery can last around two days with moderate use. I have fettled with all the settings on it thou. So it doesn't do anything unless I tell it to. Battery will last for a good length of time then.

With everything turned on I still don't think tHe battery is terrible but id rather it not die on me when I most need it.

I use Advanced task killer app to kill off all background tasks
