Sound system - Front Speakers

Featured Replies

One of my Front Speakers (the right one, passenger side) is buzzing on some songs.

Car is Octavia Combi 4x4 TSI 1.8 (2009)

I'm not really looking to upgrade, just wanted to know if there's the original part available somewhere and if it's easy to swap them.

How do I take off the grill to check out?

Saw a couple of threads for upgrades and seemed that people is disassemnbling the whole door (my seller adviced me not to do that due to airbag problems...?)

Thanks,

Sino

Hi

I don't think it's possible to remove just the grill. I removed the door card recently and it's not too difficult.

Here is a link to the guide that I used. Hope it helps.

Incidentally, you shouldn't have any problem with airbags when removing the door card. I don't think they are in there - they are in the windscreen pillar and the seat bolsters.

No the grill is part of the door card. There is a crash sensor in the door but you shouldn't interfere with it.

The clips used to hold the door card on are made of the most brittle plastic known to man, buy some new ones from Skoda/TPS before taking the door card off.

You may well be able to change the speaker without completely removing the card anyway.

Thanks everyone, what about the speakers?

How do I know what model to order?

If you want an OEM one try Skoda or TPS.

Pretty much any 6.5" mids will be OK but they will need an adapter to get them to fit. For OEM replacements, your dealer should have them.
