Custom fit sub?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Has anyone fitted a custom fit subwoofer in a Octavia Mk1 hatch?

I want a subwoofer but one that is custom fitted neatly.

If your on fb or even google search out visual ice in Rotherham or subtronix car audio in Mansfield. Either will custom make you something cool

I had this in the boot of mine.

Fitted perfectly.

The dude at visual ice is awesome

Very neat side builds and also supplier of wheel boxes

Liverpool Lad has one in the netted section of his boot I think, not seen pics though!

Build your own,i'm no joinery expert but built my full boot install easily enough

Dsmithmobile thats the kind of setup I was after.

How did you build it?

Just started off making cardboard templates and cutting to shape and when it was how I wanted it I transferred it to mdf and duplicated for the other side and then covered them in acoustic carpet, just give it a go,it wasn't difficult :)

Mine is no real ice install but i only spent £30 on a maxda 6 tyre amp/sub and acts like just a tune up really. Plus no wasted space at all.

How much would that set me back?

£100 per side ish he charges iirc

If someone gives him a vrs boot lol

Maybe he can make loads for us :D

Ha ha

He needs the car for a day, or he did when I enquired about my vr6. The more you get the cheaper it'd be I expect. His work is awesome.

The ones with the jl subs are bmw

The side carpet came out and he used them to shape

Octys he needs

I keep thinking about the drive :)

Do it.

Only 20 mins from me, I'll fetch you to mine while you wait ;)

Hehe awesome :)

If u had a mk1 with changer removed you'd save me a million pound on fuel :D lol

I spotted some boxes on ebay for mk1 octy that fit where the disc changer is for about £80 they look half decent will try to find them again. I remember they fit a 10" sub and look to fit snuggly in the side recess. Dsmithmobile yours looks quality, sort of boot build I would like but just cant get to grips with making it. I attempted to with cardboard templates but completley messed it up :( so gave up. Seen a few from visual ice and they do look super, maybe worth setting up a post to send out the feelers and see how many would be interested :)

Bowers, is yours an active or passive sub?
