Featured Replies

Hi

does any one know if the colour maxi dot is any good? I kniw its not expensive but just wondering if its worth it..

many thanks

Mike

I hear that for things such as Lane assist it helps with colour, I guess also when used with sat navigation although I can't verify this. I have ordered it on my vRS though.

Thanks for the reply.

I have colour on my Octavia and B&W on wifes Golf. Colour is much crisper even on monochrome displays, think HD vs SD. It was standard on mine. If i didn't have the direct comparison I am sure mono would be fine, but because I have the comparison I keep thinking hers is broken or I have the wring glasses on as it is out of focus!!

Very helpful comparison thanks. Will order.

Compared both on a number of test drives and decided to add it to my SE order purely because the graphics looked better and it was more in keeping with the central infomat system.

I prefer the look of the standard as I think it just looks cleaner, crisper and clearer.  For me the colour was a bit garish. I do believe that I am in the minority though.

Why not just do what I did, go see both.  Find out what you prefer and make an informed decision based on that rather than the opinion of strangers.  As friendly, helpful and knowledgeable as people on here are, you drive your car and you need to be comfortable with it.

I love it, much clearer and the colour makes much of the info easier to interpret. Cheap at the price too, get it.

Looks 100x better in my opinion, and the only time you really see colour to be as said above "garish" is when scrolling through or on lane assist which i would not say its garish, just finishes the cabin off nicely.

If you are speccing a model with Amundsen it is a must. It is standard with Columbus.

It finishes off the dash nicely I think.

It was standard on my spec, but to be honest, describing it as "colour", some would say contravenes the trades description act as 90% of the time there is no colour unless scrolling, then it's only a green border, oh and you get a few nice icons for the bluetooth, ice warning, low fuel, etc. Some folk I guess would expect it to be more like a colour screen on a smart phone, but at least I did not pay extra for it!

Dealers **** ME OFF! So the online configurator doesn't allow you to select Columbus + MAXI Dot... So I asked the dealer why not.

Answer straight off the cuff - its an issue Skoda are looking into, but we don't have a date for resolution yet.

WTF! So you are saying you can't select it, because it is implicitly built into the Columbus package? If so, that's perfect and thank you!

This culture of an incaruate instant answer is better than an accurate one you have to wait for drives me nuts! It seems standard procedure in car sales!

Yes thats correct.

I have a feeling Skoda will be slipping down the JD power results soon.

The whole customer services seem to be going down hill. Dealers know there is huge demand and long lead times so dont seem tocare as much..
