electrical problems

Featured Replies

I have two problems that ive noticed that id like some help with...

my brake lights are always slightly on even with car off and locked. I noticed this when I did the led 3rd brake light conversion but ive noticed that also my 2 brake lights are slightly always on these are also leds...

They are slightly on which is why I only noticed it in the dark. So why are my brake lights always slightly on? this is only with leds in but surely this shouldnt happen? just to add this still happens with the brake light switch unplugged from the brake pedal...

Secondly my rad fans are always on when my heating is on... which I dont understand, if I put it on ECON it turns the rad fans off but in AUTO or manual the rad fans are always on which would also explain why my car takes a while to warm up...

so anyone know whats wrong?

Probably the LED conversion is the issue. May need to put resistors on them.

Nothing wrong with the fans that's normal.

Have a look in the electrical plugs behind the CD changer, the washer pipe may have become loose and is spraying washer fluid onto the plugs.

ok will do

I've seen LED bulbs stay lit before. It's the way it's wired in the car. If you leave the car off and locked, do they turn off after a few minutes? If they do (they should), try adding a resistor into the circuit, or have a search for CAN bus friendly bulbs.

As for your heater issue, this is normal. With the heater set to auto, the A/C is switched on, so the fan runs to cool the condensor (the A/C radiator in front of the coolant radiator). When you put it on ECON mode (economy), it turns the A/C off, so the fans stop,

thanks for your help guys it would appear I have no problems lol.

The led lights in the brake lights do turn off after a period of time when the car is off and locked... dont know how long but went out after an hour and they were off.

also now I understand my heating and what the settings do lol will leave it on Econ never knew I actually had the a/c on all the time...
