vRS bolster wear?

Featured Replies

Is it abnormal for a vRS seat bolster to wear to this at 106k miles?

depends on how tall or short the driver is, if the seat is quiet forward it is more likely to end up like this. if the seat is usually well back then it will take longer, but in the end they all go like it eventually.

Mine was absolutely perfect at those miles and recently even sold mine at good price - £150 - after getting leather.

As a tall driver certainly I sat into the seat a lot more than brushing past it, so the above makes a lot of sense.

Yet again the whole mileage misconception !

Err....condition is a great general indicator of condition, not miles

Mines not that bad but at 70k I can see it wearing out already.. I've started sliding my seat back before getting out to try minimize brushing past it.. Planning on getting rid for some proper buckets when I have money..

Mines started to go on the bolsters at 105k.

Mine is ruined, colapsed and stitched up at 80k . I have a new cloth cover, just need the foam now.

I have spare mint condition back of drivers seat if anyone is interested. Well spare base and same for passenger side aswell.

I noticed I started I rub mine through after I lowered it as I had further to plonk my arse!

This is at 90k....

Mine has gone at 90k so i have used two grey iron on patches from ebay to stop it getting any worse

Mine are perfectly fine at 150K.  Minor wear but no stitches out of holes or anything.

Mine was wearing thin at that sort of milage so I put leather in, no problems now!!

Should cost about £40 at a good auto upholster to get the drivers bolster panel replaced.

Pity you aren't near Sheffield, Bielowski are fantastic (replaced the alcantara bolster on SWMBO BMW mSport for £40)

Im going to look at getting mine repaired or buy new set of seats

Mine seemed ripped but not bad but the garage I bought it off repaired it for me
