The speakers are in still in the car I have - Or are you planning an upgrade?

The whole speaker set up in my car was upgraded by the previous owner so want something better than standard. The speakers i took out were knackered i think due to the rain that pours in when you open the boot lid.

If you want something better, and to avoid the water dripping onto the speakers problem, then do what I did - it only took me a couple of hours...

I got a bit of MDF board from a local builders merchant - cost me 7 quid. They cut it to size for me - it's basically a rectangular piece, measuring just under the width of the original shelf, and about 10 inches deep.

I then bought a nice pair of 6x9 Infinity speakers from Halfords - on offer at £49.99.

I cut two oval holes in the Skoda parcel shelf, and two corresponding holes in the bit of MDF. I then fitted the speakers to the MDF, and covered it in a bit of black acoustic cloth. I then placed it over the original parcel shelf, over the holes I had already cut - and then screwed it down from the other side.

So I basically now still have the original parcel shelf, with a slightly-raised rectangle in the middle of it, containing the speakers. But as this bit has been covered in black cloth, it doesn't really show up as being an addition, when you look at it through the tailgate hatch window from the outside. All very neat and tidy - away from water dripping in - and being decent speakers mounted on a proper board, sound really good.

Hope this helps!
